Industry 4.0 Skillnet Industrial Electrical Systems Course

Who should attend?

Organisations that wish to explore the possibility of conducting in-house drone operations, create a competitive edge, improve efficiencies in the workplace or access a wider customer base. No previous experience necessary, a drone will be provided for a hands-on lesson, if you have a drone, bring it along.

Course Programme

  • Licensing – What category suits your organisation.
  • Registration as an A1 / A3 operator.
  • Craft familiarisation & choosing a craft.
  • The basic rules and how to apply them.
  • Where to fly – understanding airspace.
  • Insurance to operate.
  • Operating a drone / good airmanship – drones supplied by teacher.
  • Exploring applications / software options / use cases.
  • Satellite navigation / RTK / GNSS applications.

Overview 

The course provides students with all the necessary information to make informed decisions on licencing, craft selection, airspace classification, insurance and operational parameters, while instilling the confidence and competence to attain good airmanship qualities.

Programme Description

This course provides an introduction to drones, how to manipulate them correctly, be compliant, safe and professional. You will learn where to find quality support information and a variety of use cases focused on your specific needs.

Beginners will learn the basics while more advanced students will gain from a wealth of experience and improve their skills while producing better quality data sets.

Many drone operators are unaware that they are operating outside of the legislative framework set out by The Irish Aviation Authority, the potential risks and what that means.

Format

The course will be offered in-person at the Media Cube, IADT. The class format will be delivered in many bite size steps with a blend of talks on licencing, software applications, safety and hardware selection followed by a hands-on individual lesson.

At the end of the day there is a re-cap of what has been learned and a roadmap for your individual needs is agreed.
